Flying Colors

The Color Run was a blast!  We got totally covered and even ran into a few friends.  We spend the day color running, going out to breakfast, and stopping at a new coffee shop and new bakery before coming home and showering (I had to shower twice!)

We went out to dinner at La Plaza Tapatia last night and heard some neat live music!  I ordered Chiles Rellenos, and Ryan got some kind of enchiladas.  Tasty!  Oh, I also turned 28 yesterday.  Happy Birthday to me :)  My best work buddy brought in a cake and balloon for me, and I got lost of loving calls from family and friends.

its like a heat wave...

...burning.

We survived our post-vacation-reintegration into society....and we are already talking about our next trip!

After settling in a little bit, i was blessed with a few additional days off work while my boss was out of town.  I was able to go home and spend the 4th in Youngstown (unfortunately Ryan couldn't join me.)  It was nice to have dinner with the family, go to Gabriel Brothers, feed my allergic cousin a peanut (kidding, sorta), and just hang out at home with mom, Greg, and Winston.

This weekend has been a good time.  Ryan and I went to the Food Truck and Cart Fest at the Columbus Commons on Friday evening.  We got some BBQ pulled pork, carrot cake, chicken curry, and a little korean pancake dessert all from various trucks.

We happened to have a taco truck tour booked for today at 4pm.  We met in Victorian Village and went around in a van to 5 different taco trucks on the West side.  First was La Popular where we had some terrific chorizo tacos with a spicy avocado sauce.  We then went to Little Mexico and had a gordita filled with carne asada (so far 2 for 2!).  We headed over to Los Guachos for an al pastor gringo, a crowd favorite.  Then it was on to Tres Reyes for a giant slice of mexican pizza called a tyulada (I'm too comfortable on the couch to get up and double check the spelling on the handout they gave us.)  Our last stop was for a neat icy treat at El Delisio.  We had coconut, pecan...and a really cool one that tasted like...wait for it.... SMOKE!  We ate smoke-flavored ice cream!  It was really interesting and grew on you with each bite.
